Robotics for Ebola outbreak
In 2015 during the west Africa Ebola outbreak, the White House OSTP with multiple universities and agencies, the National Science Foundation, and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service sponsored workshops on robotics(ground, aerial, marine). Work continues and the volunteer steering committee is working on applying the lessons learned to COVID-19 in conjunction with the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology.
With funding from the National Science Foundation, researchers at Texas A&M are documenting actual operational use of robots for COVID.
